Progressive web apps.
More useful on return.

Progressive web app developmentLagos, Nigeria · remote collaboration

I develop progressive web apps for businesses that want the reach of a website with selected app-like capabilities. A PWA can support installation and carefully designed offline behaviour on compatible browsers, while remaining accessible through a web address.

The right build
for the real job.

A PWA is a useful option when customers or staff return to a product regularly but do not necessarily need a separate app-store download. It can suit booking tools, customer portals, field information and other focused workflows. The best choice depends on the user journey, device capabilities and the information that must stay current.

I am based in Lagos and build web products for clients across Nigeria and remotely. We decide which capabilities matter before adding technical complexity. An install button alone does not make a product useful offline: saved content, stale information and failed requests all need deliberate treatment. The concept demo below helps illustrate the experience, without representing a completed client product.

Businesses serving repeat users

Teams that want customers to return to a focused account, booking or service experience from their home screen.

Operations with variable connections

Workflows where selected information should remain available during interruptions, with visible limits on what can be done.

Founders choosing a first platform

Products that need broad web access and want to assess a browser-based release before committing to separate mobile distribution.

An illustrative progressive web app concept shows a compact product interface and app-like presentation using sample information. The video illustrates a design direction, not verified offline operation or a deployed client application. There is no spoken audio.

A clear scope.
A considered result.

The proposal identifies which deliverables are included in your project and how we will review them.

A responsive product foundation

Accessible browser-based screens and essential journeys that work before installation, with layout and interaction checks on agreed devices.

Installation where supported

An appropriate web manifest, icons and application settings, plus clear guidance based on the capabilities of the browsers in scope.

A considered caching strategy

Defined content caching and offline states, with an explicit distinction between saved information and actions that need a live connection.

Update and deployment planning

A documented approach to releases, cache updates and recovery, so returning users can move to a newer version predictably.

Talk through the approach
  1. Choose the right capabilities

We review the target devices, connection patterns and essential tasks. I explain where a PWA fits and where a dedicated mobile app may be more appropriate.

  2. Define offline behaviour

We agree which content can be saved, how freshness is shown and what users see when a request cannot complete. Sensitive information requires particular care.

  3. Build the core journeys

I develop the web application, then add the installation and caching features that support the agreed experience. The product remains usable through its web link.

  4. Test real browser conditions

We check the supported installation flows, connection loss, return visits and application updates, and document browser-specific differences during handover.

A useful estimate
starts with the details.

Offline read-only content is different from offline editing and later synchronisation. Conflict handling, local data, authentication and cross-device changes can increase the scope considerably.

Browser support varies by capability and platform. The proposal names the devices and features we will test, alongside hosting, API requirements and any ongoing maintenance. A PWA is assessed against your needs rather than presented as a universal replacement for native apps.

Send a short description of the outcome you need, the systems you already have and any budget or deadline boundaries. I can help turn those inputs into a practical next step.

Good questions.
Clear answers.

Will a progressive web app work offline?

Only the behaviour deliberately designed and tested for offline use can be relied on. We can cache agreed assets or information and present clear offline states. Live payments, fresh server data and some account actions still need a connection; offline editing and synchronisation require their own scope.

Should I choose a PWA or a Flutter mobile app?

Choose around distribution, device integrations, user behaviour and the required platform experience. A PWA offers a web link and supported browser capabilities. Flutter can suit a dedicated Android and iOS product. I can help compare the requirements before committing to either approach.

Can you add PWA features to an existing web application?

Often, after reviewing the existing architecture, authentication, asset loading and deployment process. I first identify which capabilities add value and what changes are needed, rather than promising installation or offline features without examining the product.
